If you are a frequent traveller to the UAE, we have some exciting news for you.
The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security has launched a service that allows visit visa holders to extend the validity of their UAE visas online.
The extension period will depend on the type of entry permit issued and the number of times the extension request can be submitted.
Tourist Visa Holders can extend the validity of their visa for up to 60 days and those with a visa issued to receive medical treatment or to study can extend theirs for up to 90 days.
It’s important to know that this service can only be applied for when the visa holder is still outside the UAE and if their passports at least valid for six more months.
The costs will depend on the validity and type of visa you are trying to extend:
- Tourist (visit visas) extended for up to 60 days – 610 AED
- Visas for GCC residents extended for up to 60 days – 710 AED
- Visas for medical treatments extended up to 90 days – 510 AED
- Visas to study extended up to 90 days – 610 AED
All entry permit extensions are issued within 48 hours if the application is approved.
