To register a pleasure vessel in Seychelles, one would have to consider the following requirements:
- Vessel maximum age is 15 years. If the boat is very well maintained, the limit may be increased to 25 years.
- Ownership is allowed by a Seychelles citizen or an IBC incorporated under the 2016 Act.
- If the vessel is abroad, it can be provisionally registered by the Seychelles diplomatic mission abroad for 90 days with possible extension for another 90 days.
- A permanent registration can be obtained without first applying for provision and a discount of 30% is granted for second registration within a year.
- Parallel registration is allowed but requires consent of flagging country, owner’s consent and provision of charter-party (if any).
